Stay alert while driving through workzones and follows detour signs. Watch for construction personnel, equipment and vehicles leaving a construction site and merging with traffic. Motorists should use alternate routes when possible. No pedestrians are allowed in construction work areas for safety reasons. Slow for the cone zone!
SR 178/Fairfax Road Interchange

Security Paving Company (SPC) has opened all freeway facilities with the exception of the westbound off-ramp, which will remains closed until all work is completed. Westbound motorists should continue using Oswell Street or Morning Drive to exit the freeway until this ramp is opened.
Intermittent single lane and shoulder closures on SR 178, various ramps, Fairfax Road and Auburn Street may occur Monday-Thursday, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. and Friday from 7 a.m. to noon, while final work is completed. No delays are expected.
SPC is performing work on the irrigation system, highway landscape planting, weed control mat, various change orders, and punchlist items. Crews continue finishing residential yards adjacent to the soundwall.
Westside Parkway Phase 1 – Mohawk Street Extension

Security Paving Company (SPC) will be working on the project's three bridges. No traffic delays are anticipated.
There is a temporary closure of the equestrian trail, located on the north side of the Kern River, through the construction zone. The Hoey Jogging Trail is also closed, within the construction area, while work is underway. Jogging trail users may bypass the construction zone by using the bike path. These closures will remain in place while the bridge is under construction and while work could compromise trail users' safety.
Westside Parkway Phase 2

The project consists of constructing a 6-8 lane, new expressway road with interchange ramps at Allen Road, Calloway Drive, Coffee Avenue, and Mohawk Avenue. Utility companies may be working in the area in preparation of the construction project. No traffic delays are anticipated.
SR 99/7th Standard Road Interchange Improvements

The contractor has completed the majority of work affecting traffic; however, motorists should remain alert to construction equipment and personnel who may be completing final details at the interchange.
7th Standard Road Widening Project
February 2010
Security Paving Company is currently importing fill material from Coffee Road to Calloway Drive on the south side of 7th Standard Road. Bridge piles are being driven at the Calloway Canal and the Friant Kern Canal north of the existing road. Anderson Drilling will move to the Lerdo Canal on the south side of 7th Standard Road following the work at the Friant Kern Canal. Utility relocations continue. Flagging may be required, and motorists should stay alert and prepared to stop.
